National Assembly President Rubén De León said that the shield law will go to second debate Monday.
The law will govern the prosecution of deputies of the National Assembly and the Central American Parliament.
Commission of Government Chairman Pedro Miguel González said that the document is very close to achieving consensus, so he expects it to be approved.
under a new provision, the law would be extended to include Supreme Court justices and the president.
The existing law was approved during the administration of Ricardo Martinelli.
