for me balot is a delicacy you will never find anywhere other than Philippines and I will eat it with no hesitation… unless you just turn your back on your Filipino culture and that is shameful…

actually its called either “balut” or “balot” and most of us filipinos refer to it as “balut” because “balot” meaning is more reserved on something else. balot can have one or two meanings but “balut” is unique.

I am a filipino, and I do not even eat balut. Well, I used to when I was a kid.
actually balut was brought to us by our Chinese brothers way way way way back. . and do you know that Chinese traders settled in the northern part of the country that’s why when you go to Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte and the Mountain Provinces majority of the people looks like Chinese (chinky-eyed and fair skinned)
